Located in Western Kentucky Wannapoint Kennel is owned by Lisa & Michael Stovall. We have been involved in German Shorthaired Pointers since 1999. However our lives have always been filled with loving canine companions. Both my husband and I cannot remember a time growing up when we did not have at least one dog. Our first two German Shorthaired Pointers were rescue dogs. While living with these two German Shorthairs, we fell in love with this very versatile breed and decided that this was definitely the breed for us. Our commitment to quality dogs is timeless. Wannapoint adheres to a high ethical standard for our dogs. All breeding stock is OFA certified (hips, elbows, cardiac and thyroid), Optigen CD Normal, CERFed and proven in the AKC conformation show ring and in the field (earning at least one field/hunt related title). Our interests lie in the quality of our dogs, not the quantity. Our dogs are important members of our family and are spoiled rotten.
We have been involved in the sports of purebred
dogs since 2002. We actively participate in
conformation, hunting tests, field trials, agility, obedience,
and tracking events. We love the competition and
friendships that competing has given us. And, as you can
see from most of the pictures on this site, we are well on our
way to having a junior handler too. Our daughter, Emma, loves
the dogs and they are exceptionally tolerant and aware of her
needs. Emma loves going to dog shows and doing anything dog
related. Her only complaint about the shorthairs is that they
do not have enough hair, and she does love to groom.
